Iris walked into a rhythmic gymnastics class for the first time as a shy, frightened 6-year-old; her passion for the sport has only grown since. Iris began competing at age 8, participating in state, regional, and national level competitions, winning the title of State Champion in 2006, as well as a place in the Region One Junior Olympic team for 4 years. At age 11, Iris also began her training in classical ballet under the Vaganova method, and expanded into contemporary and modern dance. In 2012, Iris left rhythmic gymnastics to devote her time to academics, where she indulges in a rigorous advanced placement courseload. Iris currently splits her time between schoolwork, tutoring, and Emerald City Rhythmics, and she loves spreading her enthusiasm for rhythmic gymnastics to students of all ages.
Iris is a Safety and Instructor certified professional member of United States Gymnastics Association.
